Site Analysis & Response establishes an understanding of the context for Project 3. Using the provided site data and information, as well as further information gained from site visit, students will identify the intangible qualities together with the physical inventory that shape the character of the site. As a conclusion of the Site Analysis, students will work with their tutorial group to reorganize the demarcated site area – the Wellness Zone - through the design of a Wellness Masterplan, which will serve as the base for their Project 3: Wellness Center PLUS.

REFLECTION

In this assignment, I was able to have an understanding not only about the site but also the community surrounding the site, by talking with the residents in the neighborhood and park visitors. I was able to understand the character and charm of their community, and analyse the site to come out with a masterplan that would benefit the community, and kickstart the design stage of our own wellness center PLUS.

We were able to understand the needs and wants of the community, and what wellness means to them. Through online research, we were also able to understand, analyze and align the historical data with the stories of elderly residents, to uncover the character of the site.
