DESIGNER'S JOURNEY:
ELEMENTS OF DESIGN
TASK
In this assignment, students were to produce an A5 accordion booklet. The content will consist of elaborations and explanations on the design elements observed from black and white photographs, photograph by ourselves. Other than that students were also required to produce one A3 sheet of analysis from the painting Guernica.

WEEKLY PROGRESS
WEEK 5: GROUP DISCUSSION + EMPATHY & DEFINE
After the assignment brief, We created a Whatsapp group for discussion.
We called to discuss how we can narrow down the theme. We went for early childhood education and care for special needs children.
For empathy, we went and interviewed parents and teenagers on this topic. We did several surveys using google form and Instagram stories. We collected the responses and summarized in a powerpoint presentation. Some of the group members also did research on the current situation.
For define, we further summarize what we got in the empathy stage and stated the problem statement.
WEEK 6: IDEATION
For ideation, we wrote down all our early ideas.

From each idea, we stated the concept, special features, the pros, and the cons for comparison.
WEEK 7: PROTOTYPE AND BUILDING OUR PLATFORM
After we got feedback from our teammate's friend, we picked out the best idea from ideation stage. After that, it was time to think detail. We split into teams of two to work on two different platforms. We wrote down our creative action plans.

We also start to build our Instagram page and website from scratch.
WEEK 8: PRESENTATION
We discussed and settled on the best marketing digital media - advertisement and posters. Adler wrote the script for the advertisement, Andrew and Xinhui are in charge of the posters while I am in charge of the recording of the voice over. Kelvin volunteered to edit the video.

We also edited the canva slides to give further explaination.
REFLECTION
1. THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS
Whenever a group member is confused about something, I step up as the leader and discuss the problem with them so that they can figure it out in their own way. The group did several trail-and-errors to look for the best awareness campaign method.
2. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Being the leader of the group, I learned that I am responsible for monitoring each members' work and progress so that we do not fall behind schedule. I planned out discussion sessions and divided tasks among the team so that everybody had the chance to contribute.
MY REFLECTION
3. DIGITAL LITERACY
This assignment exposed me to how to create a professional website and social media account. With the help of my group members, we managed to create both an Instagram account and Wix website with regular posting.
