WEEK 10: DISCUSSION + RESEARCH

We made our own Whatsapp group as soon as possible so that we could decide on our public figure. We first listed own all our options then went through all of them together. At last, we decided that Jack Ma would be fitting as we wanted to design a garden with zen concepts.

We quickly delegated the topics for research. We compiled all the findings in a Google Doc.

We also made our own schedule and timetable.

WEEK 11: SUMMARIZE INFORMATION + DISCUSS ON LAYOUT

We later then summarized the information in our own words, following with discussions to settle on a layout style.

WEEK 12: constructing pages for part a + project description + design statement + discussion

To make sure our progress aligns with the brief, Andrew and Jaylene helped coming up with the project description and the design statement while I start to construct the pages for part A.

Kimberly, Ming Yee and I were also in charge of coming up with the suitable landscape components.

When we were done collecting all the information, it was time to draw out the bubble diagram and the conceptual plan. Ming Yee was in charge of the bubble diagram whereas I will draw out the conceptual plan.

The bubble diagram took a lot of trials and errors to get it right.

The first draft of the conceptual plan was not good enough as the shapes needed to be more organic. Therefore I tried again referring to examples on pinterest.

WEEK 14: AMEND CONCEPTUAL PLAN AND BUBBLE DIAGRAM + ELABORATIONS FOR LANDSCAPE ELEMENT + TOUCH UPS

For the last week, Ming Yee and I focused on refining the bubble diagram and the conceptual plan while Andrew and Jaylene wrote elaborations for all the landscape components. Kimberly then worked on the proposal pages.

1. DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

This assignment was a great way for us to further understand the design process. I learned the correct way to produce bubble diagrams and conceptual plans through the feedback from our tutors and references online.

2. LIFELONG LEARNING

Part A of this assignment benefited me in a way that I now have a better grasp on extracting information and turning information into visuals/ diagrams instead of paragraphs.

MY REFLECTION

3. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

By working in a group, it is important to take other group members' thoughts into account so that the quality of work can be improved. During meeting calls, we would take turns to voice our opinions. I also tried to not ignore anyone's point of view
