Chang Shi Pei

I would like to define myself as a creative being. I'm always inspired to try new things. I try to be the best version of myself everyday, so to be seen as trustworthy, helpful, honest and loyal. My teachers and friends describe me as someone who is able to efficiently organize events, handle and participate in team activities. I aspire to be a successful architect through hard work and good efforts. I am always focused towards my goal.

I loved art since I was little. I was doodling all over the walls when I was five, and had the craziest dreams and thoughts. I was first introduced to photography when I was 13, when I joined the photography club by accident. Looking back, it was truly a blessing in disguise. I start to connect with photography as it helped me express what I see and feel on a daily basis. I love creating, whether it be a small artpiece or a photograph.

If you were to ask 7 year old me "What would you want to be when you grow up?", the answer has always stayed the same - an architect. Although studying science stream subjects such as Chemistry, Biology and Physics, deep down I knew I loved to design. I showcased my passion and strengths in helping my high school class design our bulletin board for competitions. I was able to prove my artistic abilities by the awards our class won for best bulletin board decorations and several creative awards. 

Now as an architecture student, I am confident as ever that architecture is what I want to pursue in the future. Despite the heavy workload, I am always challenging myself to design something not only for the sake of the assignment but something that resonates with the audience. I hope to fully utilize my creative side, creating structures and buildings that inspire people in the future.
