PROJECT 1:
DESIGNER'S JOURNEY:
ELEMENTS OF DESIGN
TASK
In this assignment, students were to produce an A5 accordion booklet. The content will consist of elaborations and explanations on the design elements observed from black and white photographs, photograph by ourselves. Other than that students were also required to produce one A3 sheet of analysis from the painting Guernica.
MY REFLECTION
Society, culture, history, memory and the landscape of a particular place echoes the meaning of that ‘place’, or its ‘genius loci’. The project design brief calls for an architectural response toward the sense of place with a strong engagement and relationship to the site and programmatic requirements. Thestudy area for Project 2 is between Parit Satu Gambut and Sekolah Kebangsaan Parit 4 which is along Jalan Terusan Utama Parit 4. Students are required to document, interpret and analyze the physical conditions of the site.

PERSONAL INTERPRETATIONS
REFLECTION
In this assignment, I was able to have an understanding and emotional attachment to the paddy field by actually going to the site for 2 days 1 night. Ample time was given to feel the ambiance of the site, to observe the technicalities of the site and to ferment a starting concept for the final assignment.
1. DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
A thorough site analysis was able to be conducted, with areas chosen specifically to fit the site by referring to Edward T White's site analysis methods.
2. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Task was able to be distributed to all the team members and discussion amongst team members were conducted efficiently in decision making.
3. CITIZENSHIP AND GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES
We were able to understand Kampung Sungai Haji Dorani in multiple levels. By interviewing the people there as well as ourselves, we were able to obtain different perspectives on the village and how it is standing compared to the cities.
