MY REFLECTION
weekly progress
WEEK 11: DISCUSSION + RESEARCH FOR PART A
After the group was formed, we had our first group meeting call on whatsapp to discuss about the research for part A. We quickly decided to use Kuala Lumpur City Centre as our example for urban area and Ampang Jaya as out example for suburban area, but we couldnt settle on an example for rural area thus we decided to reasearch on all the options that we have and choose the best one.
We also made a timetable for ourselves.
WEEK 12: RESEARCH ON PART B + CONSTRUCTION OF PART A
Following with the final choice for our rural area - Kampung Pachitan, The group members summarized the information while I started to construct the poster using various infographic manners.

We also created a Whatsapp group with Mr Paul, our tutor so that we can update him on our progress.

Based off of Mr. Paul's comments on our first draft, our information are still shallow and we should add more photos instead of icons. Therefore, my groupmates went and researched more on the demographics as well as pros and cons while I changed the icons with photos of the three areas.

For part B, we delegated the topics for each group member to research on.
WEEK 13: AMEND POSTER FOR PART A + SUMMARIZE INFO FOR PART B + MAKING OF THE MAPS
We then improved the quality of our poster with better infographics and more in-depth data.

for part B, some of the members helped summarize the information while me and Mingyee started working on the maps with Adobe Photoshop.
WEEK 14: CONSTRUCTION OF POSTER FOR PART B
I helped with constructing the poster for part B, with the useful suggestions from my groupmates.
During tutorial class, we were told that our information is throughout but the composition is a bit rigid. Hence, I tried another layout while mingyee refined her map.
WEEK 15: AMEND PART B + FINAL TOUCH UP
For the last week, we focused on refining our poster for part B by always updating Mr. Paul on out progress. We would later tweak the lacking parts.
REFLECTION
1. LIFELONG LEARNING
This assignment has benefited me in a way that I am not afraid of failing and redoing things. The group and I had multiple long meeting calls just to solve problems such as the layout, composition and aesthetic of the posters. In the end, we successfully came up with a layout that has good flow and is also not too compact.
2. COMMUNICATION SKILLS
All the members in my group are active in voicing their thoughts and opinions and it made me realize the importance of having good communication skills, as it helped to ease our decision-making process. We were also always checking with one another's progress so that nothing goes wrong.
MY REFLECTION
3. DIGITAL LITERACY
This assignment gave me a chance to brush up on my photoshop skills. I utilized various tools and techniques in making a map that looked like it was separated into different layers. The map provided visual charity as all the information is not cramped together. When facing an issue, I do not hesitate to look for answers from online editing tutorials
