WEEK 6: REGULAR AND FLOWING RHYTHM

The project kick started with regular and flowing rhythm. After choosing a design element, I then venture off into picking out the materials before constructing the models.

The materials picked is used throughout the project to give a sense of unity to all the models.

WEEK 7: ALTERNATING, PROGRESSIVE AND RANDOM RHYTHM

I then moved on to the next three models, managing my time wisely.

failed attempt: model only focuses on one side, but destructive on the other three.

WEEK 8: BALANCE

For the last three small models, we were to express in terms of composition, namely symmetrical balance, assymetrical balance and radial balance.

failed attempt: the model lacks volume.

WEEK 9: FINAL MODEL

I sketched out several ideas for the final model, combining a few rhythms and balance. The final decision was made by mixing up flowing rhythm, random rhythm, progressive rhythm and asymmetrical balance.

1. LIFELONG LEARNING

The number of models that needed to be made refined my workmanship. I discovered that having good workmanship is crucial in translating ideas and thoughts into visual form.

2. COMMUNICATION SKILLS

I do not hesitate to share my work with the class to obtain helpful crits that can push my design forward.

MY REFLECTION

3. DIGITAL LITERACY

As models are submitted digitally, the photographs play a major part for a good impression. I got the chance to showcase my skills in photography.
