DESIGNER'S JOURNEY:
ELEMENTS OF DESIGN
TASK
In this assignment, students were to produce an A5 accordion booklet. The content will consist of elaborations and explanations on the design elements observed from black and white photographs, photograph by ourselves. Other than that students were also required to produce one A3 sheet of analysis from the painting Guernica.

ASSIGNMENT 1(A):
NATURE JOURNAL
In this assignment, I was given the task to watch a nature documentary "Earth" from 2007 and make a natrue dialogue based on the documentary itself.
I was required to present factual information, personal experiences, observation and thought on floras, faunas, settings, nature phenomena, etc.

It taught me to be brave and explore different colour mediums such as colour pencils and different layout styles so that the information are neatly arranged and clear to read. This is also the first time being exposed to architectural lettering.

In this assignment, each group were assigned a natural setting to discuss on.
​
The task requires the group to talk about scientific facts, characteristics, adaptations, positive/negative impacts of human activities as well as ideas to overcome the issues. Not only does the group have to do in-depth research on the assigned natural setting, we were also required to record it in a discussion manner, with infographics to support our statements.
​
This assignment was an opportunity for us to explore on new softwares such as Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing and Zoom for recording. In order to enhance the visual element of our video, we used slides for our infographics, utilising diagrams, charts, graphs, pictures and online footage.

ASSIGNMENT 2(A):
MY "X" HOMETOWN
In this assignment, I was required to show my understanding of the different elements of the built environment by making a pamphlet covering the tangible and intangible components of my hometown.

I have to analyze and investigate various aspects such as building typology, road circulation, facilities, softscapes, safety, sense of place, and many more.
​
I have to then present my information by using diagrams, sketches and illustrations instead of long paragraphs.

For the last assignment of out module, We worked in groups of 5. There were two parts to this assignment.
​
For part A, we were to show our understanding on the differences between urban, suburban and rural area by conducting an investigation on different areas for each category. To compare the three areas from the topography, population, building typography, infrastructure and lifestyle by using infographic methods.
​
For part B, our group was assgined to carry out site analysis on La Rambla, a famous street in Barcelona. Other than basic topics such as zoning, street circulation, softscapes, infrastructure and many more, we were required to do research using Kelvin Lynch's theory- five elements of urban design mentioned in his book "The Image of The City".

All of the information were to fit 2 A2 size posters.
